Meet Me on the Equinox – Death Cab For Cutie

Meet Me on the Equinox” is a song by indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie, and was released as the first single from the soundtrack to the film New Moon.[1] The song debuted on September 13 during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. The music video, directed by the Walter Robot team, premiered in October.

Alexandra Patsavas, music supervisor on New Moon, provided scenes from the film to some of the artists featured on the soundtrack as a guide. Death Cab for Cutie guitarist Chris Walla said he had read two of the books in the Twilight series at the time of the song’s recording, and noted that the lyrics are more suggestive than literal.

Singer Ben Gibbard admitted that he hadn’t read all of the books in the Twilight series, and said that the song is more about his personal life than Stephenie Meyer’s fictional world. Gibbard said of the song’s meaning: “The song at its core is just about meeting another halfway, because life is very short, because there’s only a brief period of time to really connect with people, and that it’s important to recognize that.”Gibbard added, “I just wanted something that kind of tonally matched the story and the scenes within the film, so they could kind of be put alongside but not be telling a narrative you’re watching on the screen.”

    Susan Boyles: Rising singer?

Remember, Susan Boyle hit up YouTube?

Susan Boyle’s new album cover features the global superstar as you have seen her before–down-to-earth and natural.

Boyle’s handlers are making sure that the “Hairy Angel’s” appeal is not diluted by Hollywood gloss. On the cover of the 48-year-old’s debut album I Dreamed A Dream, she appears in all her wrinkled glory.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden said: “She needs to stay exactly as she is because that’s the reason we love her. She just looks like anybody who could live on your street.

“The minute we turn her into a glamourpuss is when it’s spoilt. For now we’ll keep her exactly as she is because that’s why we’ve all fallen in love with her.”

Ironically, how she appears on the cover may make no difference. Her album, out November 23, has already topped Amazon’s bestsellers list, with tens of thousands of copies sold as pre-orders. It is certain to go straight to the top of the Billboard chart.

    I Dreamed A Dream tracklisting:

    “Wild Horses”
    “I Dreamed A Dream”
    “Cry Me A River”
    “How Great Thou Art”
    “You’ll See”
    “Daydream Believer”
    “Up To The Mountain”
    “Amazing Grace”
“Who I Was Born To Be”
    “Proud”
    “The End Of The World”
    “Silent”

    Metro Station – Seventeen Forever

    Too bad I’m no longer 17 :(

Seventeen Forever is the fourth single from pop group Metro Station’s self-titled debut album. The single was released on December 13, 2008[1], and has charted on three major Billboard charts. First week, the song debuted at number 53 on the Australian Aria Charts, and has peaked at number 43. Frontman Trace Cyrus told Kerrang! magazine that this song is “about wanting to be in a relationship with a girl who’s underage so bad and how age limitations don’t let you do that.”

The song was released as the band’s second UK single on July 13, 2009 and has so far peaked at number 89.

    HISTORY

YG Entertainment was founded in 1996 by Yang Hyun Suk, who was a member of Seo Taiji and Boys. After the group’s break-up in 1996, he produced Keep Six and created hits with debuting musicians Jinusean, 1TYM, Se7en, Big Bang, 2NE1, Lexy and Wheesung. His direct experiences from having been a singer himself has propelled him to gather a formidable team of the strongest producers, lyricists, composer groups, singers, planning team, and PR teams to provide the best environment in ensuring high quality music for YG Entertainment.

The company is best known for producing singers Park Ji Yoon, Rain[1], R&B group g.o.d. and, more recently, the Wonder Girls[2] and 2PM.

    HISTORY

Park Jin-young founded the company in 1997 as “Tae-Hong Planning Corporation”, which eventually became “JYP Entertainment” in 2001.

The studio and headquarters of its US branch, JYP USA, officially opened in New York City in June 2007. In October 2008, JYP Entertainment further expanded by opening the JYP Beijing Center as their China branch. The same year, CAA (Creative Artists Agency) included JYP Entertainment in its roster of high profile clientele.

The company is considered one of the biggest management companies in South Korea, along with SM Entertainment , DSP Entertainment and YG Entertainment. In an interview, Park stated that the success of his artists is due to him creating a “brand” for the artist. It has been reported that the group is worth in excess of $100 million.

JYP had created a subsidiary for his company JYPE, called Cube Entertainment, where the ex-Wondergirl member Hyuna debuted with her group 4minute in June 2009 and AJ, a new singer, debuted in April of 2009. JYPE had also put 2AM into Cube Entertainment before debuting in July of 2008. In Cube Entertainment there are also soloists Mario, Eddie, and Young Ji.

In June 2009, it was officially announced that JYP Entertainment and the Jonas Group signed a management deal for the Wonder Girls. Wonder Girls will be joining the Jonas Brothers’ World Tour 2009, in select cities, as the opening act performing their two songs “Nobody” and “Tell Me”.
