Meet Me on the Equinox – Death Cab For Cutie

Meet Me on the Equinox” is a song by indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie, and was released as the first single from the soundtrack to the film New Moon.[1] The song debuted on September 13 during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. The music video, directed by the Walter Robot team, premiered in October.

Alexandra Patsavas, music supervisor on New Moon, provided scenes from the film to some of the artists featured on the soundtrack as a guide. Death Cab for Cutie guitarist Chris Walla said he had read two of the books in the Twilight series at the time of the song’s recording, and noted that the lyrics are more suggestive than literal.

Singer Ben Gibbard admitted that he hadn’t read all of the books in the Twilight series, and said that the song is more about his personal life than Stephenie Meyer’s fictional world. Gibbard said of the song’s meaning: “The song at its core is just about meeting another halfway, because life is very short, because there’s only a brief period of time to really connect with people, and that it’s important to recognize that.”Gibbard added, “I just wanted something that kind of tonally matched the story and the scenes within the film, so they could kind of be put alongside but not be telling a narrative you’re watching on the screen.”

The Twilight Saga: New Moon (My Review)

New Moon biten me up with the scenes especially on fight lines and transforming creature like the wolves. 4 stars for the film :D

Today I watch the box-office hit sequel of Twilight starring Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner. I wasn’t saw the first part (the beginning of all with the title and actors rolling on screen) but have the chance to watch beginning with Romeo & Juliet part.

Well the movie seem quiet fantastic and well modified than the first. The scene are well connected, guiding some passages from the novel. The good thing is, is that they create more actions and more technical matter on film. With morphing to animating mammals… well in short a good subject matter to talk about. Even my papo (my dad) was suprise and amaze with the production.

Many where heart-tickled by Jacob who seems so protective with the protagonist and with that reaction, scenes were also mermirizing to those shouting girls (shall I say TEAM JACOB). Every scene that Jacob was in “half-naked,” they almost fell to their seats and keep on screaming (my my my goodness).

The end part was still hanging the same with the first one. Edward proposed to Bella in a solemn persuading attitude… for that reason I was still craving with ECLIPSE! XD

New Moon Soundtrack RD: October 16, 2009

New Moon’s soundtrack comprises songs that are all original and exclusive to the soundtrack and are performed by various indie rock and alternative rock artists. New Moon director Chris Weitz stated that the soundtrack would feature songs from Radiohead, Muse, and Band of Skulls.[15] Death Cab for Cutie contributed the soundtrack’s lead single, a song written specifically for the film called “Meet Me on the Equinox”, which debuted September 13 during the MTV Video Music Awards. Bassist Nick Harmer says, “We wrote ‘Meet Me On the Equinox’ to reflect the celestial themes and motifs that run throughout the Twilight series and we wanted to capture that desperate feeling of endings and beginnings that so strongly affect the main characters.” The music video for “Meet Me on the Equinox” premiered on October 7, 2009 and includes clips from the movie. The English rock band Muse contributed a remix of their song “I Belong to You”, which appears in its original form on their 2009 album The Resistance. St. Vincent collaborated with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon to create a song called “Rosyln”. When describing the song, she said, “[Justin] sings in his beautiful falsetto and I’m actually singing very, very low… I think there’s something vampirey and creepy about the two of us singing together. It’s a simple, stripped-down kind of song.” The soundtrack originally had a release date of October 20, 2009, but the date was moved up four days to October 16 due to “overwhelming and unprecedented demand”.

    New Post? (with Film: PA)

Almost four months of waiting and finally my computer is back to normal and my life too. Well my computer is fixed and so am I, this is the start of another post and the continuos post here in my wordpress account. How do I start, making a post for the Halloween. Starting with the low-bugeted horror movie Paranormal Activity, obviously I can’t watch this over the net because of my low performance connection. The [plot revolves on a young couple, Katie and Micah, who are haunted by a supernatural presence in their home. The movie is presented in a documentary style, using footage from the camera set up by the couple to capture what is haunting them, in a similar manner to The Blair Witch Project, and The Last Broadcast.]-wiki

Maybe later I can post more…

    New Moon: The Volturi

    File:Thevolturiphoto.png

The Volturi aren’t supposed to be the villains, the way they seem to you. They are the foundation of our peace and civilization.

―Edward Cullen to Bella Cullen and Jacob Black

The Volturi leaders include Aro, who can read every thought a person has ever had once he has made physical contact, Marcus, who senses relationships, and Caius, who has no known power. Aro’s wife, Sulpicia, Caius’ wife, Athenodora, and formerly Marcus’ wife, Didyme, who had the power to make others happy, also act as leaders. The Volturi guard consists of 32 members, including Jane, who creates illusions of pain; Alec, who is able to block the others’ senses; Demetri, who can track anyone once he has the tenor of their mind; Chelsea, who can change emotional bondings; and Renata, who can make anyone feel distracted and wandering when they are near her (classified as a “shield”). The majority of the Volturi remain nameless throughout the series. There is also a human secretary named Gianna who appears in New Moon. Despite her hopes to become a vampire, she is killed by the Volturi by the events of Breaking Dawn. The Volturi have invited Carlisle, Edward, Alice, Kate, Benjamin, Zafrina, and Bella to join them, though all have refused.

In the New Moon film, the cast of the Volturi includes Michael Sheen as Aro; Jamie Campbell Bower as Caius; Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus; Dakota Fanning as Jane; Cameron Bright as Alec; Charlie Bewley as Demetri; Daniel Cudmore as Felix; and Noot Seear as Heidi. -Wkp

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Trailer

File:Hp6teaserposter.jpgHarry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is a 2009 fantasy-adventure film based on the novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling. It is the sixth film in the Harry Potter film series. It is directed by David Yates, the director of the fifth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. David Heyman and David Barron produced the film,[5] and Steve Kloves, screenwriter of the first four films, returned as screenwriter for this film.[6] Filming began on 24 September 2007, and the film was released in cinemas worldwide on 15 July 2009, one day short of the fourth anniversary of the corresponding novel’s release. Unlike the previous film, the sixth film was not simultaneously released in regular cinemas and IMAX 3-D in all countries, due to a Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen several week commitment.[7] The film will instead be released in IMAX 3D on 29 July, two weeks after its original release, in these countries.[8]

The film opened to critical acclaim and commercial success, and broke the records for biggest midnight opening gross of all time as well as biggest single-day worldwide gross of all time. In five days the film went on to break the record for biggest five-day worldwide gross in history. The film is dedicated to the memory of actor Rob Knox, who portrays Marcus Belby in the film and was killed in May 2008
